Flying with Pegasus Airlines
Pegasus Airlines is a low-cost airline with headquarters in Istanbul, Turkey. Founded in 1990 with the slogan “We Didn't Start Aviation In Turkey, But We Transformed It”, Pegasus Airlines has become one of the country’s most established airlines and offers services to 105 destinations including 69 international and 33 domestic flight locations in 40 different countries across Europe and The Middle East. With a fleet of 66 airplanes in total, 56 of which are new generation 737-800 N, Pegasus Airlines operates Turkey’s youngest fleet. In 2013 the airline carried a total of 13.8 million passengers. This figure represents a huge increase of over 5 million compared to 2008. Pegasus was named “The Fastest Growing Airline” of Europe's major scheduled airlines in terms of seat capacity for 2011, 2012 and 2013 by the Official Airline Guide (OAG) report.
Online check-in
- Pegasus Airlines online check-in service starts 72 hours prior to the flight and ends 40 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Passengers that have checked in online and have luggage can complete the check-in procedure at the relevant airport counters.
- The online check-in service is available for all adult passengers holding valid passports and electronic tickets with confirmed reservations on flights operated by Pegasus Airlines.
- Passengers checking in online with may also select their preferred seat and on-flight meal up to 24 hours prior to the flight’s departure.
- Online check-in for Pegasus Airlines flights are not available at the following destinations: Baghdad, Doha, Dubai, Erbil, Geneva, Hurgada, Kastamonu, Krasnodar, Lyon, Mineralnye Vody, Moskoa-Domodedovo, Paris, Pristina, Sarajevo, Sarm El Seyh, Skopje, Tahran and Tirana. Passengers departing from these locations will have to check in at the airport terminal.

Cabin luggage allowance
- Only 1 item of cabin baggage with dimensions no larger than 20cm x 40cm x 55cm is allowed per passenger.
- The maximum weight of cabin luggage is 8kg on all Pegasus Airlines flights.
- Each passenger is entitled to 1 piece of cabin luggage, while the following items are allowed to be carried on board without additional cost: handbags, 1 bag of Duty-Free shopping, umbrellas, walking sticks, baby strollers, collapsible wheel-chairs, a pair of crutches and a laptop computer.
- Valuable items, fragile items and musical instruments have to be accompanied by a passenger. The maximum weight for each item is 10kg and an additional seat has to be reserved and paid for at the time of booking. It’s not possible to add the hand baggage allowance to the hold baggage allowance.
Checked baggage allowance
- On Pegasus Airlines domestic flights, passengers are entitled to 1 free item of checked baggage weighing no more than 15kg. This weight can be increased to 25kg for a fee. Checked baggage on international flights is not free but can be purchased. For these flights the maximum weight allowance is 25kg.
- The baggage allowance for all infants under the age of 2 years is 10kg.
- Additional weight allowances can be purchased up until 2 hours prior to the flights departure. This can be done online or at the airport terminal.
- Sporting equipment may also be checked onto the flight for a fee, provided it is appropriately packed and does not exceed the weight and size limits.
