Flying with Swiss International Airlines
Swiss is the main airline in Switzerland and its route network is based mainly in Europe, although it also flies to North America, South America, Asia and Africa. Swiss headquarters are located in Zurich International Airport in Switzerland. The airline was founded in 2001, purchased through "Almea" foundation, by Lufthansa Group. The company bought the Swiss airline Crossair in 2002. The airline affiliated to Star Alliance group in 2006, allowing it to offer routes to a wide list of international airports.
In 2007, Swiss and its main hub, Zurich Airport, were named as the best airline and airport in Europe by the German magazine "Business Traveller." Swiss has a fleet of 78 aircrafts including the new route from Geneva to Valencia which was opened in March 2007.
