Flying with Vueling
Vueling is a low-cost Spanish airline with headquarters in the Catalonian city of Barcelona. In 2009 Vueling merged with Spanish airline rivals Clickair though continued to operate under the Vueling brand, whilst the Clickair flights and aircraft were re-branded under the Vueling name. Today Vueling operates a network of over 150 destinations in Africa, Asia and Europe. Vueling is currently the 2nd largest airline in Spain and in 2014 carried over 17.2 million passengers with a load factor of approximately 80%. In addition to its own network routes, Vueling has codeshare agreements with British Airways, Iberia and Qatar Airways, which provides travellers with a wide range of connection opportunities to hundreds of added destinations. Vueling has its main base at Barcelona–El Prat Airport as well a second hub of operations at Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport in Rome.
Online check-in
- Passengers travelling with Vueling can check in online anytime between 7 days and 4 hours before the scheduled flight departure.
- When checking in online passengers will need their travel documents and a valid Vueling e-ticket to complete the online check-in process.
- Passengers who require special assistance or those travelling with infants aged less than 2 years are unable to check in online. Airport check-in desks are available for all passengers who are unable, or do not wish to check in online. No extra fee is charged for checking in at the airport.
- When checking in online with Vueling passengers are able to select their preferred seat on board the flight.
Cabin luggage allowance
With Vueling, all passengers are allowed one piece of hand luggage weighing a maximum 10kg with dimensions not exceeding 55x40x20 cm. In addition to their cabin baggage allowance, travellers can carry on-board the plane an extra personal item which may include one of the following: a briefcase, handbag, camera or video camera.
Checked baggage allowance
- There are no size restrictions for checked baggage on Vueling flights.
- The standard checked baggage weight allowance for any individual item is 23kg. This can be increased to a maximum of 32kg for an excess baggage fee. Any item over 32kg will not be accepted as checked baggage and will require repacking. The maximum amount of weight a single passenger can check on board the aircraft is 50kg.
- Passengers are charged for each item of baggage they wish to check onto the flight. Each item of checked luggage will be charged relevant to the flight’s destination. Any item over 23kg will be charged an excess weight fee.
- Passengers can check sports equipment such as skis, snowboards, golf clubs, bicycles, surfboards, and windsurfing equipment on all Vueling flights at a set charge per item.
